What are the pros & cons of using coffee grounds in my veggie garden. I have read that grounds may be too acidic and can do more harm than good. Another posted supported the use. Wondering if you could help settle this debate. I am in zone 3.

I put chunks of Irish Spring soap under my vegetable plants to repel deer. Does this really work? Also one night it disappeared (not dissolved by rain). What critter likely took it? Are coffee grounds good for soil amendment or deer repulsion? Thanks.

Composting unbrewed coffee grounds #789441

Someone has given me 2 lbs of coffee still in the bag and long past the Use By date. I was going to try to compost them but wasn't sure how to go about it. I could add both bags to my composter, but that seems like a lot at one time. Any suggestions?

The coffee shop I frequent offers customers to take home 2 gallon bags of coffee grounds for composting and gardens. Are there flowers and shrubs that might be harmed by too much coffee grounds?

Hello. I wish to dispose of some old coffee beans and am considering adding them to the garden. I want to know if it is advisable to mix the coffee, in either whole bean or ground form, into flower beds and vegetable beds. Thank you.

I often bring home 2-gallon bags of coffee grounds from our neighborhood coffee shop. I spread the coffee grounds on top of the snow around the perennial flower gardens, shrubs, and trees. There seems to be no shortage of coffee grounds so often grab a bag or 2 to bring home. 1. Should I be careful not to over-spread on certain plants? 2. Are there some plants that should not receive any grounds? 3. Are the grounds harmful to my lawn?

Raspberries and replacing lawn with native plants #779916

1. I know raspberries are disease prone. I am considering creating a raspberry patch next to my 4x4 foot vegetable garden. Would that be worrisome for the health of my vegetables? How likely would it be that any type of pest could migrate from the raspberry bushes to my vegetable garden if they were planted 2-3 feet away? 2. Do you have resources on converting a grass lawn to a more eco-friendly landscape? I am tired of taking care of my grass and would like to replace it with native plants. I would like to do as much of this myself as possible.
