Hello. I wish to dispose of some old coffee beans and am considering adding them to the garden. I want to know if it is advisable to mix the coffee, in either whole bean or ground form, into flower beds and vegetable beds. Thank you.

Adding coffee grounds to your soil is a great way to add some structure or tilth to your soil. It is recommended to add some nitrogen fertilizer (per directions on the label) in addition to the coffee grounds. You will need to grind the beans first before adding to the garden bed.
