    Could you please identify this flowering shrub for me? Also, when we moved into our home 45 years ago there was a beautiful butternut hickory. It wasn't doing well. A tree guy came out and said it was dying, basically of old age. Any thoughts on this?

    Hi, I recently received my soil results and it showed above optimum magnesium (275ppm) and seemingly high calcium (2250ppm), how should I go about managing this? The pH was 6.6 and lime index was 69. I also need to increase phosphorus (32ppm), so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. This is for raised bed vegetable garden.

    About eight yrs ago, we lived in another location in Boring, and the BMSBs were horrible. I inquired and got someone to come out and put some parasitic wasps on the property, which helped immensely over the next two seasons. We then moved and have issues with them again. I do not remember who it was that helped us. Can you direct me to the proper department please?

    Hi, Several of our maple trees have many (if not most) leaves affected, is this anthracnose due to the wet cold spring? Foliage photos are difficult, but I'm including them. Symptoms are shrivelled leaves and dark spots/streaks. Thanks for any information! I believe most of the pics are the sugar maple (at least I think it's a sugar maple), and I think the maple behind our garage is silver or black maple, it's affected as well.     Establishing a windbreak on an acreage #900454

    I am trying to figure out how to establish a new windbreak on a small acreage, 3 some acres. I have read through some of your literature, and the amount of space it calls for is more than I have. I would only maybe be able to do 1 or 2 rows. I was leaning towards lilacs, I would have 120 feet of a row on the west. I would also like to do the south, but do not have a measurement for the south. There is an old established windbreak on the north. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

    I'm wondering if the profuse deadwood and clump-like growth on this perhaps 50yo yellowwood tree about 20"DBH is a sign that is near end of lifespan or is a easily recognised treatable problem ?  No aware of any unsuaual stresses, insects, diseased foliage.
