I know king cobras kill using neurotoxins and that the venom can cause its prey to asphyxiate, but what is the process and the times of this in humans? For example, how much time passes before it becomes troubling to breathe to impossible to breathe, and how soon does an antivenom need to be administered? How does the antivenom work and what is the process and times?

Crimson King Maple Is Split with Pulp-Like Bark #474788

I just noticed today that our Crimson King maple has a 5-7 foot split on the south side of the trunk. The tree was planted about 10 years ago. There is a very wet two foot section where it looks like water is running down the trunk and that section's bark appears to be decomposing - the bark has turned to mush (maybe from being so wet). I saw a couple bugs in that area and there are a lot of small ants (not carpenters) running all around the trunk. There is a lot of moss located all over the trunk. No branches were lost recently and the tree appears to be healthy, with no thinning on the south side. The last time that we fertilized was probably one or two years after it was planted. I attached two photos of this tree.

Our second Crimson King also has a lot of moss and ants crawling through it. I also noticed a few red patches across the trunk. I attached one photo of this tree.

Hello. One of our rhododendrons, about 8 feet tall, is sick. Leaves are pale and drooping. The other rhodies next to it are healthy. Should I replace the sick one or is there a remedy I can try? Thank you.

I have two 5' x 5' plots I plan to plant flowers in. I'm struggling to come up with a good layout for everything and choose good spacing for the flowers. I want to focus on bringing in pollinators. I am planning on having zinnias, cosmos, dahlias, sunflower, petunias, impatiens, echinacea, and snapdragon and maybe a few others. But I want to ensure they get the space they need and that they are planted next to the right plants. Do you have any layout suggestions and spacing advice?

3 year old fig trees (Desert King I think) #439536

In need of transplanting. From 9" x 8 3/4" pots to 13" x 11" pots. I took cuttings from 70 year old tree. In the pics, one grew straight up (and had 2 immature fruits.) The other one grew all over and has suckers. Are the new pots large enough? They will stay in containers. When should I transplant? Does either one need pruning? Should suckers stay? Been using bought compost and soil and add perlite. Thanks
