I have 2 types of corn planted, both planted ~4/21/2025, golden bantam and silver queen. Both corn varieties seem short, the bantam is ~3-3.5 tall right now. The silver queen is 4-4.5 feet tall. The golden bantam has silk and ears forming. I have recently added blood meal around the corn, ~2 inches from the stalks. I also have green beans planted next to the corn, and it is just now starting to emerge. Should I be concerned about the short lengths? I do know we had some colder days with a lot of rain this spring. I do not see any other issues.
Also, I have some cabbage and broccoli that have some holes in the leaves. I have tried to avoid using any sprays or insecticides in the gardens, but I am wondering if there is a good spray that I natural pest control in place such as nasturium, marigolds, salvia, etc., that are planted throughout the garden and around the edges.
