It would help our expert to see pictures of several leaves, branches, and one taken far enough back to see the whole tree from ground to the top.
Also please provide answers to these —-
Are the leaves still green when they drop?
Do the branches where they break look like they are jagged and broken or neatly clipped off?
Is the tree located where it got some water from irrigation during this summer’s drought?
