Orange Eggs on Milkweed #946928

Asked October 12, 2026, 10:24 AM EDT

I am wondering if anyone might be able to guide me here. Over the summer we planted a native rain garden and it seems that all of our new milkweed plants have become infested with aphids. I have attached pictures and am wondering if they will come back next year or if we have lost them for good. If so, is there something we could have or should have done to prevent them? Pictures attached. Thank you.

Typically aphids won't kill healthy plants,  it does depend on the size of the infestation and possibly maturity.

Because you don't want to use pesticides that will kill beneficial insects that also feed on the plants,  your best option is to use a hard spray of water to knock them off.
