Expert Response

Apple identification can be challenging.  You can make some best guesses based on visual comparisons, taste/texture, and ripening time.  Common MN apple varieties ripening around this time are Zestar, SweeTango, Sweet Sixteen, Honeycrisp. However, the only definitive way to determine your type of apple is through DNA testing.  This testing can be done through a program at Washington State and perhaps other locations. https://myfruittree.cahnrs.wsu.edu/
