I have a field row of black locust tress that I want to remove. I understand fall is the best time to cut and treat the stumps. Is there a best time in the fall? Before first frost, after first frost? Located in Foley, MN.

The following articles describe tree stump treatments. Chemical and mechanical means will work best before the ground freezes. A frost, but not cold enough to freeze the ground should not affect the process.
