Thank you for your question for Extension Master Gardeners. We've had a very hot and dry summer and tomato plants have suffered in many gardens. There is a disease called leaf roll where the leaves curl in order to save moisture. Many people have reported leaf roll this year. Unless the leaves have spots on them, your tomato plant should be okay. Keep watering it like you've been doing.
Your large spot on the fruit could be blossom -end rot, a common disease of tomatoes. It is caused by a calcium deficiency, hot weather or injury to the plant.
