I have grapes in my backyard that have not been taken care of for a number of years. This year they have a decent crop of grapes but the grapes are about one half the usual size. I am thinking it is mostly due to lack of rainfall. Would they be safe to use?

Thanks for reaching out. Small-sized fruit could be caused by a lack of water. Having overgrown vines may also be a culprit. Pruning next spring can help by reducing the number of fruit on the plant so the fruit that are left are larger.
Either way, the fruit is safe to eat (assuming you haven't used any pesticides on it or used pesticides according to the product label). I can't vouch for the flavor profile, though! You'll have to do a taste test.
