Strawberry leaves #937035

Asked June 27, 2026, 9:27 PM EDT

My strawberry leaves appear cup-shaped and have some dark spots on the underside. From the research I did online, I thought it might be caused by spider mites, but I can't find any spider mites on the plants. What do you think it is?

Good Morning,

Thanks for your question.

Please click on the following link all about growing strawberries: https://extension.umn.edu/gardening-minnesota/growing-strawberries-home-garden

If you scroll down, the sections will expand. There is a section about pests and diseases. From viewing your photos, your leaves, though a little cupped, appear to be healthy. With the heavy rains and winds we've had, your leaves may be beaten up a little by the weather.

Good air movement and cultural practices will keep your plants healthy. Strawberries are subject to several kinds of leaf fungus. With the up coming hot and humid weather, you may find more damaged leaves.

Good Luck!
