Infected Dahliad #933477

Asked May 29, 2026, 4:53 PM EDT

Ate all of these leaves signs of infection? If yes, and most if the plant looks like this. Shoukd I dig them up and throw them out? Some have black, dry edges. I just planted these last weekend. I started them from tubers in pots in the house and either put them in the ground or in big pots, if that matters. I just don't know how they all got infected, if that's what this is. Thanks.

Expert Response

Hi Penny,

Thanks for reaching out! At first glance, this doesn't look too concerning. Did you harden them off before planting them in the pots / outside? It might be a reaction to temperatures as they went from the house to the outdoors. Otherwise, are they getting enough water? It looks more like environmental damage than damage from an insect or disease.

Please keep us posted if they do not improve - we are happy to help.
