Return to the Program #931819

Asked May 15, 2026, 12:48 PM EDT

Hi, I have been a master gardener in the past and took time off when I returned to working full time. I am interested in returning, especially to teach classes on gardening including such topics as starting from seed, seed saving, managing the garden through the NE growing season for a successful harvest, preserving the harvest, and more. Please advise me how to return. Thank you.

Hi Christina,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us at the UNH Extension Yard & Garden Infoline. So great to hear that you'd like to become active again through the Master Gardener Volunteer program! I have forwarded your email over to Ruth Smith, MG program manager, and you should hear back from her next week!

Once you're re-introduced to MGV, please know that you're always more than welcome to join our Education Center Volunteer team as well! Many MG and Natural Resources Steward volunteers get additional training to support our free Yard & Garden Infoline services. We resolve over 3,000 unique questions each year and folks love the continuous learning opportunities that come with it!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
