Do you have any ideas as to what is happening
1. Last year our condenser peach tree didn’t bloom so obviously there were no peaches. The year before there were so many we had to cull them. We figured that it was taking a “break” last year, but there aren’t any blooms this year. It is getting leaves.
2. Apples were abundant last year on the twisted harelson/candy crisp tree and we culled a lot of them. The honey crisp had a lot of apples also. We missed culling them and 2 limbed broke. This year the honey crisp has 3 bud clusters and the twisted tree there aren’t any flower buds.
Not sure what’s going on. Do you have any ideas?
Maybe it’s too early?

Expert Response
Contender peaches may drop buds if there are intermittent spring frosts. Lack of blooms can also occur on younger trees.
Apple trees will not bloom if they are stressed in any way. Losing two limbs will definitely stress the tree. Tree limb loss can also make it susceptible to disease and insects. Keep the tree watered this year and watch for signs of insects or disease. If you can keep it healthy it will likely recover for a crop next year.
