Sweetshrub #930502

Asked May 04, 2026, 8:09 AM EDT

Hello, We have this sweet shrub planted in a corner of our house. I was recently at the national arboretum and noticed one that was massive. Would it be wise to try and transplant it to an area where it would have more space to grow? Do they transplant well? We have much more room on the west side. Thank you!!

Expert Response

Hi Rachel,
Yes, they can reach 8-10 feet in height and width. This is still small enough that it should transplant well.  You can do it now or wait until fall.
