Something wrong with our fig tree #930492

Asked May 04, 2026, 12:18 AM EDT

Our fig is producing many tiny figs which are hollow. Also, the leaves are stunted and shriveled. What can we do to help this plant?

Expert Response

Hi Liz and thanks for your question and pictures of your fig tree. I believe the first problem may be that it is not getting enough light. It looks "rangy", like the branches are reaching for light. This is also early in the season, so the "hollow" fruits may not be pollinated yet. You don't say how long you have had this tree or how old it is, so I'll attach a basic fig care guide and you can decide what might help this tree. Figs are generally problem free in our area, so this one does look like it needs some help.
