How do I build a tree frog house?

Washington County Oregon

Expert Response

Our western tree frog *might* use a tube such as folks in the South put up for other species of "tree frogs" - see https://blogs.ifas.ufl.edu/ifascomm/2024/09/04/how-to-build-a-treefrog-house/
However, our native tree frog species would be most likely to use natural structures, cavities, and moisture-preserving cover such as leaf litter. Both the Washington DFW https://wdfw.wa.gov/species-habitats/living/frogs#viewing-frogs and Oregon DFW https://myodfw.com/sites/default/files/2026-02/LWW_Pacific_Treefrog_final.pdf
provide some excellent information about this native species!
