This looks like a type of Bedstraw (botanical name Galium), but we can't ID it to species from photos. There are about 20 species of Galium that occur in Maryland, around half of them non-native; in a garden setting, they tend to be considered weeds due to aggressive spread. We don't have information about its edibility and discourage people from eating harvested and unidentified plants without reliable expertise from an experienced and highly-trained forager.
