Hi Michelle,
MSU does not certify for therapeutic riding. Our Michigan 4-H Proud Equestrian Instructors are required to be Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRI) through PATH International. MSU has developed workshops that offer continued education credits for PATH CRTI. Our Animal Science Department is now offering a pathway for MSU students interested in pursuing a career in Equine Assisted Services, including a 300-level course in Introduction to Assisted Services. These students will still need to take a certification course through an organization that aligns with their EAS goals.
Thanks for the question!
