I have a 40-year-old rhododendron. This spring it has an excessive amount of deadwood and browning leaves. I did fertilize it last year and watered it until it was too cold. I'm trying to determine if the loss of branches was due to the cold or some type of borer. The rhododendron is about 10 ft tall and maybe 60 ft around. Thanks.

Hello Your first picture is blurry. Can you please attach 2 or 3 more showing the dieback and browning? Is the flowering picture this year’s blooms? When was it last fertilized? Thank you
