Yellow jacket control #928141

Asked April 12, 2026, 12:34 PM EDT

We have Yellow jackets entering near the basement window. My guess is they are getting under the siding and getting through an opening and the insulation . We have captured and found 8 in the last week or so.I have treated the perimeter with Sevin dust and an OTC Spectracide Foaming spray for Carpenter Bees and Yellow jackets. We are seeking advice if we may need to continue in this or use a professional service. Thanks Dennis George

Expert Response

Dennis, I would monitor the outside and inside of the window to see if additional insects are found.  If you find a couple more, I would try treating again, especially with the foam before calling in a pest control service. You may also need to fill in any crevices with caulk or sealer to prevent re-entry.
