Apple tree with fire blight #927990

Hi! I noticed this discoloration on my long lived apple tree. I'm curious what you would do for this. Thank you and it's much appreciate!

Thank you for your question and photos for Extension Master Gardeners. With fire blight, trunks of trees appear to be scorched by fire and crack and peel. It does appear your apple tree trunk appears scorched and is dark. Other clues include dried blossoms and limbs forming a hook. It's hard for me to tell, even with the pictures, if this is the case with your tree. Here's information from Extension about fire blight, including pictures:
