Hello Michael,

As we frequently get questions about jumping worms, we have an overview to share that I'm attaching here.

There are no scientific data that demonstrate the usefulness of mustard seed to control jumping worms therefore I would suggest that you not spend time or money on this unproven method.  Researchers are searching for effective measures but none have yet emerged.

Current recommendations are to focus on controlling the spread - especially into forested areas.  The major concern with these worms is that they consume the nutrients on forest floors that tree seedlings need to survive.

If you have any questions after reading the Extension Master Gardener (EMG) overview on jumping worms attached here, please feel free to send them in and we can provide further support.

Thank you for being aware of this troublesome introduced species and taking efforts to control it.
