I've planted the bottom of a horseradish root that I purchased from a grocery store. It's growing well. Do I cut off any flowers that may appear to insure that the plant growth is focusedon the root?.

Horseradish takes a year of growth before you can harvest it. Do not remove the flowers. Please see the Penn State Extension page for more information about growing horseradish. Thank you for your question Jeannine Snyder https://extension.psu.edu/growing-horseradish/
