Are there any small trees I can grow that are indigenous to Minnesota? #927309

I recently had to cut down several trees in my back yard that are all growing together, situated right below power lines. It makes me really sad to cut down all those trees (one was a lilac) since they were homes for wild life. I'd like to find a small tree or shrub that's indigenous to Minnesota to replant in that spot. My yard is very small, so that's the only spot available. It needs to be a tree that wouldn't grow higher than the power lines overhead, which are roughly 25 feet from the ground. Would the master gardeners have any suggestions?
