Hi Larry and thank you soooo much for sending in such a great picture of your seeding bamboo! I was just reading about bamboo last night and believe it or not, every species in the world that is the same as yours is seeding not too! Doesn't matter which continent it is on or what has happened to it for the last 50 years, the cycle of seeding is the same. Some species only set seed every 150 years, so lucky you to get to see this rare event!

Not all bamboo dies after flowering, but it may. If so, the seeds may sprout and give you the new bamboo shoots to replace the current plants. It may also just dieback and not be completely killed, so just let it be and see what happens.

And thank you again for sharing this unique event!
