Landscaping recommendations #926848

I am planting some new beds in front of existing shrubs (euonymous, holly, hydrangea). Can you recommend native plants to put in front of these shrubs? I live in Chestertown, MD. The beds receive partial sun. Thank you.

There are numerous plant options, and it would help to narrow it down if we could see a photo of the beds, know the rough dimensions, soil conditions (clay, sandy?), and whether there are any deer to contend with. What time of day is the part sun, morning or afternoon?

Are you thinking of planting flower perennials or other small shrubs? Do you have a bloom time you are hoping for or blooms throughout the season?  Are there certain colors you prefer?
