Thank you for reaching out to the UNH Extension Yard and Garden Infoline. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity for home visits. We do, however, offer several in-person pruning demonstrations, typically from February until April. The best place to look for these workshops along with all our other events is the UNH Extension Events page. If you missed these, or couldn’t attend, we also have several resources available on our website pertaining to pruning:
- The Basics of Pruning Trees and Shrubs (fact sheet)
- A Few Tree Pruning Basics (blog post)
- It’s Pruning Season (blog post)
- Pruning and Training Grapes in the Home Vineyard (fact sheet)
- Growing Fruits: Growing Plums, Cherries, and Apricots in NH Home Orchards (fact sheet)
- How to Clean and Sharpen your Pruners (blog post)
- Science of Pruning Q&A (blog post)
If you aren’t able to prune trees and shrubs yourself, we recommend contacting a NH Certified Landscape Professional to do the work for you. You can find a list of Certified Landscape Professionals here.
For larger tree work, we recommend contacting a certified arborist. Find a local arborist with the NH Arborists Association list of certified arborists in the state.
