inside a cedar raised bed #926589

Asked March 23, 2026, 3:01 PM EDT

Hi Extension, I bought a cedar raised bed that stands 3' off the ground. Do I need to cover the inside with something to prevent rot? Thank you.

Here is the UnMD article on raised beds. Please read the related information too. Cedar is a great material to use and should last 8 years or more, depending on the type of cedar and local conditions. Be sure drainage is ok and water as needed. Since this bed is "off the ground", you may need to water more often.
