This "plant" showed up 3/4 years ago. It's very small. starts sort of a pretty shade of lime green and then becomes a deep red. After spraying it with round-up, the plant turns sort of a sick looking dull rust color. I've never seen any blooms, and when I pull the plant, there haven't been any root runners so I can't guess how it spreads. Any information to help eliminate this plant would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Do you grow Heath and Heather in that area?
Pull one and share a closeup of what the bottom, root side looks like. Also, a clear photo of the foliage. I can’t really make it out in these photos.
