Cryptomeria japonica #925796

I have a Cryptomeria japonica tree and it’s doing well. What proactive disease and pest control do you recommend? And when should this be applied? Thanks Sheila

Expert Response

We don't recommend any preventative pest or disease control in this situation, and Cryptomeria in particular is not a pest- or disease-prone plant. If the plant develops concerning symptoms, feel free to share photos with us for feedback. Often, discoloration or dieback is due to environmental stress, such as underwatering during drought, winterburn (a common condition that has affected lots of evergreens after this winter), or over-saturated roots (over-watering); or, the stress from one of those conditions predisposed the plant to a secondary pest or disease issue.
