It is not considered aggressive at this time, though it is not a native to Michigan. (It's native range is NE US, roughly from Maine to easter Ohio.)
It would be safer to plant one of the many trees native to Michigan for many reasons. One, as you mentioned, is that it could become aggressive or invasive with time. Secondly, the tree does appear to be vulnerable to some diseases and insects.
