Slow growing, drought tolerant ground cover alternative to grass #925415

Asked March 04, 2026, 1:42 PM EST

After a remodel, we have the opportunity to redo our entire front lawn. We do not have underground sprinkling and wonder what you recommend planting as an alternative to grass. We're looking for something pretty much maintenance free so drought tolerant, full sun, and short. It should fill in well enough that weeds won't grow through it. The space is a corner lot in full sun, about 1/3 acre with a slight slope on the north edge.
