What is the best lilsc variety for south western Michigan?

Hello,

One of the problems that we have with lilacs in Michigan is the incidence of powdery mildew at the end of the season. However, there are many options. Read more here: https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/lilac_an_old_fashioned_favorite_shrub
