Ther are two types of moths you have in your house. The first is one of the storage pest moths. These can be found in your pantry or where you store any type of human or animal food. The other type of month is those we call clothing months. These are found where you keep any clothing, rugs, blankets, or similar items that have animal hair or skin (leather). The control methods are different for each type.

To help figure out which type of moths you have you can do the following. Carefully examine your closets to see if you find any of these moths. At which of these windows are you finding these moths? If this is where you are finding the moths these procedures may help you. You can also use traps like sticky fly paper to help in controlling these pests.

Treatment and control measures of clothing, and fur pests

  1. 1. Storage of clothing in tight containers. If the clothing has these pests, you can freeze the articles to kill the moths. Better is to clean the articles of clothing to remove any traces of food.
  2. 2. Remove all traces of the moth nest, the larvae, and eggs.
  3. 3. Vacuum all items and locations where you have found traces of these moths.
  4. 4. Dispose of the vacuum bags (tie the bag shut) or clean out the vacuum filters after you have finished vacuuming.

The other is to carefully examine your pantry closet, food storage, and kitchen window stills, if you have them.
