Tulips too early #924873

My granddaughter planted about 60 tulips outside last fall (under my guidance). She had about a dozen bulbs left over, which I asked her to plant in two containers that I subsequently placed on the floor in my tuck-under garage. The thermometer in the garage has consistently read at about 40 degrees in the winter (except when it got down to or under zero when it may go down to about 30.
I few weeks ago I noticed the bulbs starting to sprout. I covered the two containers with a loose cardboard box to shield any light. Today I see that shoots in the yellow metal container are up to 4" tall while those in the earthen pot remain at 1" maximum. I also now moved both containers from the wall with the heated house to the far outside corner of the garage and inside a closet there – away from most house heat. I will attempt to attach a picture - the #10 envelope in the picture is for size comparison. Your guidance and suggestions are solicited.
I have not watered either pot since planting, but I would expect to do so when I move the pots out. I can’t get a picture into this message right now it seems. I look forward to any suggestions or guidance you may offer.

Okay your tulips are ready to grow. Once brought out of cold treatment, watered, and placed in a cool, sunny window (50° to 60℉ is ideal) the bulbs should flower in three to four weeks.
