Expert Response

Hi Norman,

I believe you are referring to the Hillsborough County Community Garden at 326 Mast Road in Goffstown.  Their website which includes details on how to sign up is: https://www.caphr.org/services/community-gardens.

This link is an excellent reference for companion planting of flowers, herbs, fruits, vegetables, and legumes.  All of these plants can grow well in the environment of southern New Hampshire:  https://connect.extension.org/fileSendAction/fcType/0/fcOid/<personal data hidden>6457483/filePointer/<personal data hidden>5726107/fodoid/<personal data hidden>5726100/Companion%20Planting%20Chart1.pdf  The code at the top of the chart explains what plants work well together.  Plants that grow well together are in dark green beside the plant.  For example, garlic grows well with broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, strawberry, and tomatoes.  Plants that should not be planted together are in red.  For example, tomatoes should not be planted with broccoli, cauliflower, corn, or dill.
