Thanks for submitting your question to Ask Extension. Michigan is home to more than 75 different native species of trees, according to the Michigan State University Extension. While some publications, such as this field guide, mention over 100 species in the state, the generally cited number for native species is over 75, with 69 common ones detailed in E2332.
