best way to prepare area for asparagus? i was told to dig a trench. how deep? what to fill trench with? how far apart can trenches be? how long a trench for family use.

The space you have to plant may limit the amount of asparagus you plant but if space is not an issue a general guideline is 10-20 plants per person in your family.
