Hi Julia,
Thank you so much for your question. I enjoyed researching mole publications and supposed solutions from sound devices, garlic or mint potions and glass.
Thanks to the work of Pamela Bennet of the OSU Extension in Clark county, who wrote, “the best solution is trapping”. She laid out the solution in steps. First, stamp down all raised tunnels and mounds. If you find an area the next day that was repaired, that is where the trap should be placed. Always wear gloves as moles can smell our scent and will avoid the area.
If you do these things and they remain you may want to contract with an exterminator.
You may have other gardening questions. A lot of answers can be found at https://www.ohioline.osu.edu and at your county OSU Extension service located at 225 Underwood St #600, Zanesville, Ohio 43701,<personal data hidden>.
I do hope I have helped you and have not been too chatty.
Sincerely,
Mike Heys
