Soil test? #923438

Asked January 08, 2026, 2:51 PM EST

Good morning! I am interested in getting my soil tested but am not sure where this can be done. I am an up and coming flower farmer who owns 5 acres and a wedding venue. Just looking for some direction. Thank you!

Expert Response

Greetings,

Thanks for reaching out. We recommend using a soil testing lab that follows methods calibrated for Oregon soils. Here are a few reliable places to start:

Here is direct list to all labs, we recommend using those in the NW: https://www.soils.org/napt-program/laboratory/directory/all

Labs often used by our regional farmers include A&L, OSU Soil Health Lab, Western Laboratories

For flower production, most growers start with a basic soil fertility test (pH, organic matter, N‑P‑K, and cation exchange capacity). If you’re growing varieties sensitive to micronutrient balance, you may also want a micronutrient panel.
