Do you offer any INSV (Impatiens Necrotic Spot Virus) testing at either the Grand Rapids MSU Extension office (775 Ball Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503) or the MSU University campus?

Hi Sydney,

Yes, the Michigan State University Plant and Pest Diagnostics Lab does test for Impatiens Necrotic Spotted Wilt Virus (INSV). I don’t believe the Grand Rapids Extension office does that test. Here is a link to the MSU Plant & Pest Diagnostics Lab Plant & Pest Diagnostics

If you do have INSV on your African violets, you will need to destroy the plants and control the western flower thrip which spreads the virus.
