Hello, this plant is growing in a semi-wild portion of our yard. Is it some kind of viburnum? If so, what kind? Thank you. Mary

This is a tricky one! There are several plants it could be, but it doesn't seem to quite match any of them. There are a few Viburnums, like V. burkwoodii, that have an entire (smooth) edge like this does, but the distinctly hairy (ciliate) leaf edges have me a bit stumped.
Can you confirm, are the leaves opposite on the stems? They look like it, but there are no really clear views of the arrangement in your photo.
Could you send a good photo of the underside of the leaves, especially showing whether it is hairy or fuzzy?
Also, have you seen it in bloom? A photo would be super helpful, but even just a description of whatever you know about its flowers would help.
