Glass to Sand for Coastal Restoration #922865

Hi, I recently read about the glass half full project (Link: https://glasshalffull.co/what-we-do) and was wondering if UMD is working towards anything similar. I know that the university recently reinstituted glass recycling, but it seems as though instating a project like this would work towards the university's goals of sustainability and the sand could be used for things like coastal restoration. I am really passionate about coming up with solutions to address waste and would be interested in trying to initiate a project such as this!

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, the University does not have any similar projects at the moment. I would suggest reaching out to the Office of Sustainability to see if they would be able to offer guidance or connect you with any upcoming or related initiatives.
