how to keep yellow jacket queens out of a gas fireplace chimney #922299

Asked November 22, 2025, 10:51 AM EST

Hi! We just started having them come in this fall/winter (been in the house since 2015) and they seem to be getting chonkier (LOL). I posted a photo on Facebook to Antman's Hill for identification. Is there anyway to keep them out or what I should do to keep them out of the actual house? I've found suggestions for wood fireplaces but nothing for gas. Thanks!

Thank for reaching out.  Controlling Yellowjackets in the home can be challenging.  The Yellowjacket Queen continuing to return to the home is definitely an issue that will need to be resolved since they have been there since 2015.

Below is information to assist you.  Being it is a challenge to control them when they are in a home, it may be best to contact a local pest control company.
