Mulch leaves on the lawn? #922211

Expert Response
Absolutely! Yes, run the mower over those leaves and the volume is greatly reduced. The smaller leaf pieces easily settle into the lawn and over time breakdown to enrich the soil. You don't want more than 60% of the lawn covered/shaded, at that point you will want to rake or use a bagger to remove some.
It is recommended practice to mow the lawn shorter (2") this time of the year to discourage voles from nesting, reduce snow mold issues, and the lawn will perk up better next spring.
