Hi Sue,
The process is straightforward. Dig up the bulbs before the first frost is predicted, shake off excess soil, let the bulbs dry for a few days, the store them in peat moss or vermiculite at around 60 degrees. They bulbs can be replanted in the spring once the soil temperature reaches 65F.
This link leads to a nice article about storing different types of so called tender bulbs. The general instructions are applicable for all such bulbs. The only difference being when to dig them up (before or after a frost), how long to dry them before storing and storage temperature. https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/storing-tender-bulbs-for-winter/
Hope this helps.
