Having planted new arborvitae shrubs at our residence in this past spring, with winter approaching, do you advise wrapping the shrubs ( they are approximately 25-30" inches in height ?) If so, when should they be wrapped and when should they be unwrapped come spring? Any other special preparations or items to address that you'd suggest. The soil the shrubs are planted in, is very clay like, retaining moisture rather well, and the back lawn location is conducive for decent under soil drainage due to the gradual sloping of our lot towards the shrubs. Thank you!

Wrapping protects against heavy snow loads, wind and varmints. Watch the weather reports to decide exactly when to wrap and unwrap. If you have deer and/or rabbits, wrap and unwrap when their food sources are declining in fall or improving in the spring.
