Do you have someone who can trap the bear...live or dead?

Expert Response
Thank you for raising awareness of this conflict. Unfortunately, it sounds like that individual bear is well on its way to learning that humans provide food, which is dangerous for the bear as well as humans. Please immediately call the Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife, our state's wildlife management agency, and alert them that you've got a food-conditioned bear frequenting your neighborhood! I believe your closest District Biologist will be at the Newport office:
Newport Field Office
2040 SE Marine Science Drive
Newport, OR 97365
Tel:<personal data hidden> Fax: 867-0311
But you can also call ODFW Headquarters at:

Although this individual bear may not be able to be saved, it sounds like your community would greatly benefit from learning bear-wise preventative techniques https://bearwise.org/six-bearwise-basics/
to avoid having additional bears learn these bad habits.
